2016 comission for Methodist World Development & Relief to document some of the work they support in Ghana. The two main projects MWDR are involved in are Wenchi Methodist Hospital and a series of agricultural projects in Ekumfi.
Founded in 1951, Wenchi methodist hospital has went from strength to strength, now serving a community of 173,000 people with incredible accuracy and professionalism under the watch of the amazing Mr Bernard Botwe, Administrator.
Local people in the Ekumfi region had traditionally relied upon the forests for food and building materials. Deforestation and a coconut tree virus saw the resources become very depleted. Two fast-growing tree species were planted, under the watch of Rev Joseph Donkoh, who had his agricultural diploma funded my MWDR a number of years ago. New, safer and more efficient kilns have been developed and additional crop species such as pineapples and peppers are now being planted.
